Rethinking definitions of Geographic Information Systems
The most commonly accepted defintions of GIS use the word "system"
in the definition as if this word were unproblematic.
Yes, I was a member of the Delphi panel assembled by Dueker and Kjerne to
discuss the definitions of terms. Yes, I accept partial responsiblity for
the result. However, in using the accepted term, I find it lacks a number
